Gel permeation Chromatography requires a different type of data handling software from normal HPLC. So for GPC applications it is recommended to buy Clarity with the GPC Extension. Note that the extension is not a stand-alone package and it is necessary to order it with the full version of Clarity.

Once Clarity is installed with the GPC extension, the Instrument type in the Configuration Window should be set to GPC, whereupon the GPC options become active for that instrument.

In the GPC mode, the chromatogram is calibrated for Molecular weight against retention time, using molecular weight standards. In HPLC mode the calibration is for concentration of each recognised peak. Both modes of calibration can be apoplied to a chromatogram.
